However, over the past 10-year, due to changes in zoning bylaws, there has been a large increase in the number of townhomes and condos in the area. This is primarily due to the new Parc Riviera waterfront community.
The starting price point for a detached home in Bridgeport, Richmond is approximately $1,650,000. However, purchasing a condo is much more affordable with the starting price point of $550,000. Commute
Bridgeport is the ideal location for those who commute into Vancouver regularly by either car, transit, or bike. It has easy access to both the Oak Street and Knight Street Bridges and is a short walk to the Bridgeport Skytrain Station. It is also a quick bike ride to the Canada Line Bikeway Bridge which connects to Cambie Street in Vancouver.
Schools
Tait Elementary is the catchment elementary school for the area and it is centrally located within the neighbourhood. It has a 7.4 rating on Fraser Institute’s school ranking list. The catchment high school for Bridgeport is Cambie Secondary School which has a 6.6 rating. However, it is located outside of the neighbourhood in East Cambie. If you choose to enroll your children in French Immersion while living in Bridgeport, the catchment schools are Mitchell Elementary, Whiteside Elementary, and McRoberts Secondary.
Parks
If you enjoy being outdoors and close to the water, Bridgeport might be the right neighbourhood for you. You can enjoy daily walks along the dyke. Stop by Tait Waterfront Park which consists of a playground, basketball courts, a skateboard park, and 3-acres of outdoor space. For those of you with dogs there is an off-leash dog park at the North end of No. 4 Road.
